MORAY COUNCIL CONSULTS ON URBAN DESIGN GUIDE

People and Places – an Urban Design Guide for Moray aims to promote good practice in the layout and design of new developments. The guidance is aimed primarily at larger housing developments, although the principles could equally be applied to all types and sizes of developments. The guidance focuses on three key areas, Creating Places with Character and Identity, Connecting Places and Creating Safe and Pleasant Places. Once approved by the Planning and Regulatory Service Committee, the Supplementary Planning Guidance will be a material consideration in assessing Planning Applications.

The guide is currently in draft form and has been issued for consultation. The draft guide can be viewed on Moray Council’s website at http://www.moray.gov.uk/moray_standard/page_1650.html.

Comments on the draft guidance must be submitted to Moray Council by 22^nd January 2010.

RURAL PRACTICE CHARTERED SURVEYOR AND TRAINEE CHARTERED SURVEYOR POSITIONS

Due to an increasing workload, we are looking to expand our rural practice department. Our office is based at Pluscarden, near Elgin, Moray. We currently have a staff of 15 and our core activity is property consultancy and rural estate management.

We are currently accepting applications for both a Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor as well as a Trainee Chartered Surveyor.

The successful applicants will join our rural practice team, which consists of four fully qualified land agents. Both positions are full-time, working Monday to Friday, and salary will be negotiable depending on experience.
